Immigrant Teen Taunted by Cyberbullies Hangs Herself
In January of 2010, ABC reported that a teenage girl, who was bullied online, killed herself because of the bullying. ABC reported that even after death, the students continued to make mean comments on a Memorial page dedicated to the 15-year old. This incidence reignited the discussion about the impact of bullying, and specifically cyberbullying. It shows the most drastic effects of bullying and how the internet's anonymity, allows people to do things that they may not do in person.

Social Web Sites Sign EU Pact vs. "Cyber-Bullying"
In February of 2009, seventeen social websites, including Facebook and Myspace, voluntarily signed a pact "aimed at curbing 'cyber-bullying' and protecting the privacy of underage users." Not only was this pact meant to help prevent peer-on-peer cyberbullying, but also to help prevent adults from " befriending children online with the intention of committing sexual abuse."

Online Bullies Pull Schools into the Fray
The New York Times put this piece together about how schools are starting to deal with the issue of cyberbullying. Typically schools take the stance that because it happens outside of school and outside of school hours, there is nothing that they can do about it.
